Professor Dr. Amer Hussein

Professor Dr. Amer  Hussein is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of media, combining extensive academic expertise with practical experience and community engagement. He is a highly regarded figure in both academic and professional media circles. Born on September 11, 1968, Dr. Amer is an Egyptian national, married, and has devoted his career to advancing media studies, academic research, and their vital role in human and societal development.

Dr. Amer began his educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Media from Cairo University, followed by a Master’s degree in Media from the same university. He then earned his Ph.D. in Media from Ain Shams University, qualifying him with excellence to teach and supervise in higher education, particularly in radio, television, and public relations studies.

He has served as an Assistant Professor of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota (both the regional and main campuses), where he taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including: Radio and Television, Introduction to Media Studies, Introduction to Journalism, Public Relations and Campaigns, Press Editing, Media Ethics and Legislation, as well as Radio and Television Program Preparation and Production. He has also supervised master’s and doctoral theses and delivered lectures on research methodologies.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Amer has built a reputation as an international lecturer and trainer, contributing to platforms such as Ifad Academic Platform for Researchers, the “Million Researchers Initiative,” the International Institute for Languages and Technology, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He is also a certified trainer in human development, communication, persuasion, and public speaking.

Dr. Amer’s career has also included significant administrative and media leadership roles, such as Public Relations and Media Specialist and later Director for Dermawas City and Center, where he also served as official spokesperson. He coordinated national initiatives including the “100 Million Health” campaign and the “Decent Life” initiative, while contributing to population awareness campaigns and citizenship and coexistence committees. Additionally, he supervised youth and student affairs, organized conferences, and managed official media platforms.

On the research front, he has published studies in peer-reviewed journals such as Childhood Studies Journal at Ain Shams University, and presented at international conferences addressing media, childhood, and cultural heritage. His academic and professional efforts have been recognized with over 40 certificates of appreciation from academic, governmental, and community institutions.
