Assistant Professor Dr. Marwa Hadad

Assistant Professor Dr. Marwa Hadad is an academic and researcher specializing in media studies and children’s and adolescents’ culture. She combines solid academic training with diverse professional experience, making her one of the prominent voices in this field. Born on September 12, 1980, and holding Egyptian nationality, she has devoted her career to studying the relationship between various media forms and the awareness, culture, and identity of young generations.

Dr. Marwa began her academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, in 2003, majoring in Russian language and literature. This granted her distinguished intercultural communication skills and proficiency in multiple languages, in addition to her native Arabic. She is also fluent in English and Russian. This multilingual capacity later enriched her teaching and research career, as she worked between 2006 and 2012 in schools and institutes as a teacher of English and Russian, including at the Defense Language Institute in Egypt.

Driven by her academic passion, Dr. Marwa pursued graduate studies in Mass Communication and Children’s Culture at Ain Shams University. She earned her Master’s degree in 2015 with a thesis entitled “The Factors that Contribute to Teenagers’ Participation in Broadcasting Programs.” She later obtained her Ph.D. in 2022 from the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood, Ain Shams University, with a dissertation entitled “Egyptian Adolescents’ Exposure to Political Events through Traditional and New Media and its Relationship to their Collective Memory.” Her research reflects a deep interest in exploring the role of media in shaping the collective consciousness of younger generations.

Dr. Marwa has published several studies in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Among her notable works are “Teenagers’ Participation in Broadcasting Programs” (2014), “Adolescents’ Exposure to the Media and its Relationship to their Collective Memory” (2021), in addition to her 2022 studies on the influence of Egyptian satellite television channels and social media on youth’s national memory and collective awareness. These contributions highlight a consistent research trajectory linking media, national identity, and the formation of collective memory.

Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Marwa is recognized for her strong communication, presentation, and teaching skills, along with proficiency in modern technologies and computer applications. She has also completed specialized courses such as ICDL and TOEFL, underscoring her continuous pursuit of professional development.
